ENJOY UTAH'S STATE PARKS IN AUGUST
Utah has 45 state parks that you can boat, swim, camp, fish, picnic, hike, golf, bike, ride off-highway vehicles, or just enjoy the scenery. In the winter, you can go cross-country skiing, ice fishing, or take a ride on a snowmobile. Come and explore Utah's great state parks.
Goosenecks of the San Juan
You can look into a 1,000-foot-deep opening carved by the San Juan River. The river winds back and forth, flowing for more than five miles while moving toward the Colorado River and Lake Powell.

Goblin Valley
Goblin Valley is Utah's skull in the sky, parade of elephants, and dance of dolls. Unique rock sculptures carved by wind and water suggest mischievous goblins of folklore still about their secretive deeds.

Antelope Island
Antelope Island is the perfect place to view the Great Salt Lake. It is the largest of the Great Salt Lake's 10 islands. Home to a variety of flora and fauna, deer, bobcats, coyotes, many varieties of birds and waterfowl, and a small herd of elk. But most famous are Antelope Island's American Bison.

Territorial Statehouse
The Territorial Statehouse is Utah's oldest existing governmental building. In anticipation of Utah's statehood, Brigham Young directed construction of the building as the state's capitol. It was finished in time for the December 1855 meeting of the Territorial Legislature.

Edge of the Cedars
Edge of the Cedars State Park is the site of a pre-Colombian Pueblo Indian ruin and a modern museum. Edge of the Cedars museum houses an excellent collection of Anasazi pottery and other great ancient Indian artifacts.

Great Salt Lake
The Great Salt Lake is actually the remainder of prehistoric Lake Bonneville which covered some 20,000 square miles of land in what is now Utah, Nevada and Idaho some 10,000 to 30,000 years ago. The present lake is 92 miles long and 48 miles wide, with an average depth of 20 feet and a maximum depth of 42 feet. |

Coral Pink Sand Dunes
Coral Pink Sand Dunes is a wonderful place for riding off-highway vehicles, taking photographs or just playing in the sand.
